Women Build
Habitat Charlotte’s 1991 House That Jane Built started the whole Women Build movement . 20 Years later groups of women still gather each year for this all women construction project. There are opportunities to volunteer with planning, fundraising, and construction. The next Women Build project will be in May of 2012. Please register now, and indicate your interest in Women Build if you would like to get involved.
El Salvador Trips
Since 1987, Habitat Charlotte has tithed nearly $3 million to sister affiliates overseas, enabling construction of over 1,000 homes for low-income families in need. El Salvador, one of Central America’s poorest countries, has been the recipient of our tithe and building support since 1993.
Three trips are scheduled each year. They’re great opportunities for Charlotte residents to participate in 10-day service excursions to build alongside future Salvadoran homeowner families. Please register now, and indicate your interest in El Salvador if you would like to participate and click here for more information.
